Kevin RigneyThe morning opened up with keynote Kevin Rigney Chief Information Security Officer of Petco, speaking on "Retail Security Challenges in a Mobile World". Petco, a major retailer with $3 billion in revenues and more than 22,000 employees, is undergoing a huge transformation as they continue to expand their technology environment. Petco is developing a BYOD Policy that will support use of both Petco and employee owned devices to enable the business to have mobile web access in the stores for customer interaction and store management. The company is focusing on cost savings for devices and support, increasing productivity, device functionality/diversity, and application development and governance.

 

 

LumensionDuring the "Executive Briefing", Scott Van Horne, Vice President Sales, Americas for Lumension, Silver Sponsor provided insight into today's endpoint challenges including malware volume growing, increasing sophistication in attacks, and more precise targeting by cyber criminals.

 

One-on-One In the morning "One-on-One" interview session, Summit Emcee, Richard Warner, interviewed Hamid Zakery, Head of Compliance of Calpine Corporation, a Fortune 500 power company. The interview covered how cybersecurity is affecting the utility industry and specifically Calpine, programs Calpine is considering to secure its assets and operation, specific areas of cybersecurity that Calpine is working on, and issues Calpine sees as challenging moving forward.
