Summit Recap

After breakfast and networking, the Summit opened up with morning keynote speaker Mark Clancy, Chief Information Security Officer at Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC). Mark shared his experiences and his insight into what is most critical to understanding how the bells and whistles we invest in get to the root of our problems and reduce risk, and how we measure our achievements. In his keynote, Mark explored how looking past the distractions and driving effectiveness position organizations for success.

In the session, "Game Changers", Summit Emcee and television business commentator, Richard Warner, interviewed Derek Benz, CSO at Honeywell, on what he is doing to help drive innovation at his company. While focusing on building capabilities to provide both counter-intelligence and competitive intelligence to the company, Derek reiterated that a big win for him is focusing on continued education for employees and senior management.

With over 25 years of experience in the modeling and simulation of dynamic systems and numerous filed patents, Dr. Mike Lloyd, Chief Technology Officer with Platinum Sponsor, RedSeal Networks, brought to light how the realities of constant network change, escalating infrastructure complexity, and compliance burdens have trapped security teams in an endless game of catch-up.

Dennis brought a different viewpoint to the discussion due to his reporting role to the COO versus the CIO at UBS.
